new solo show coming up next week - re-sound part 1

In association with the good looking organisation, GIRRLSOUND: digitalgirl, I'll be doing a couple of events next week in Brisbane, Australia.

The first, on Tuesday 21st August, will be a performance/showing of new (and very new) work, and I have to say, I'm pretty excited at it being the first solo show in a very long time! I've been madly creating new work - both sound and image - over the past months, so I hope to see some of you there!

Venue: Basil Jones Orchestral Hall, Queensland Conservatorium of Music

Time: 6pm

The second event next week is an artist talk at Queensland University of Technology - I'll be having a bit of a chat about how I see the relationship between sound and image, and have a look at my creative process in making this new work. I will be showing some work, talking about it, and hopefully engaging in some discussion about it.

I will be posting some snippets of the new work here over the next couple of days too, with more to come for my international friends following the show!!

i read the old dream slowly - world premiere!

For anyone in Brisbane on Saturday 12 May, hope you can make it along to the world premiere of the new dance film collaboration between myself, Gareth Belling and Jonas Hill, being shown at Crossbows: a festival for small ensembles (Queensland Conservatorium of Music - tickets). It's shaping up to be a wonderful event, and we're really excited to have our film a part of it!

Here's the first of the new videos Jonas Hill and I have made for the LIGHT FROM BELOW tracks - this one we produced within the last week!

We're also about to go in to filming for the dance video in the next week - looking forward to it!

Since the release in November 2011, we’ve received airplay through the ABC network (including on Quiet Space, ABC Classic FM Breakfast and Triple J’s Sound Lab), the Arctic Circle (UK) and a range of Australian community stations through the Amrap AIRIT program.

The Star's End program, broadcast in Pennsylvania (USA) even named LIGHT FROM BELOW was even named in the top 10 December releases of 2011!
